Grilling

So I picked up the Aroma dual-flip griddle/grill about a week ago and it worked great! The reviews on Amazon kinda confuse me, since I’m not foreseeing any trouble and the size is perfect for me and the few friends I actually cook with. And…long heating time? If I’m grilling, I’m not expecting it to be fast anyway.

Anyhow, looks like Matt and I are going to try another grilling excursion tonight, but until then, this is what happened last week:

Nom Nom Nom

The meats included shrimp, chicken, and squid (which I cleaned myself!). I marinated the chicken and shrimp in a basic Vietnamese lemon grass marinade, while I just put a bit of salt and lime on the squid. Then we wrapped everything with rice noodles in rice paper as we ate. So yummy!

I’m gonna try bulgogi-style beef tonight, but sticking with the same basic idea. Wish me luck!

What I had for dinner

I cooked today. It took me about 40 minutes, and I am proud of it:

My dinner

It’s rice with two dishes: 1) water spinach sauteed with garlic and onions (rau muống xào tỏi) and 2) sweet-and-sour pork (thịt heo xào chua-ngọt).

Nom nom nom.
